GREENLAND Project-Midterm project’s event in Amman (Jordan)

The Midterm communication event of the GREENLAND project took place on 17-19 May 2022 in Amman, Jordan. The project “GREENLAND: GREEN-skiLls for a sustAiNable Development”, is a part of the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme. Its consortium includes 9 organizations from 7 Mediterranean countries (Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, and Portugal) and aims to promote social inclusion and increase the employability of young people outside of Employment, Education, or Training (18 to 30 years old) and women (of all ages) in the Mediterranean region. Through the development of a dynamic training and internship program, the target groups will be provided with the suitable skills required by the modern labor market in the fields of Green and Circular Economy. The creation of employment opportunities will be strengthened by sectoral skills alliances between the TVETs and SMEs.

The Interbalkan Environment Center is a proud partner of the GREENLAND project and will organize training programs, oriented to the specialized needs of the labor market of the Green and Circular Economy in the region of Central Macedonia and Thrace. At the same time, it will offer paid internships in companies and organizations active in these innovative sectors.

The formal ceremony of the project’s midterm event was a valuable opportunity to present GREENLAND’s activities to representatives of ministries, universities, local and international organizations, and the press, under the auspices of the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture.

During the event, also the capitalization workshop occurred, allowing the partners of GREENLAND and the HELIOS project as well as other ENI CBC Med projects (IP MED, MYSEA, Organic Ecosystem, CLUSTER, etc.) to share the results with green companies and networks from Jordan and the Mediterranean countries.

Furthermore, the two-day meeting of the Steering and Technical Committee of the project took place, where the partners met to work together in the development of activities and discuss its progress.

physical meeting after the pandemic was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the bond among the partners and the mission of the project, with the ultimate goal of improving social inclusion and creating new job opportunities in the Green and Circular Economy in the Mediterranean region.
