Monitoring Physicochemical and Biological parameters in the river and lake system of Nestos – Public Power Corporation

This project was contracted by The Public Power Corporation S.A. to maintain environmental conditions, control environmental effects of a power plant, and to provide scientific support and early warning in case of emergency.

Implementation of the project included:

• Telemetry data
• Physico-Chemical field measurements (In-situ)
• Monitoring Chemical parameters (In vitro)
• Monitoring Biological parameters

The outcomes of the project, as well as the actions proposed by BEC, have become decisive tools for The Public Power Corporation S.A. to create policies harmonized with the European Policy concerning environmental pollution matters.
